We met with Alan Grant, Chief Operations Officer, and Bethany Grisdale – Downs, Marketing Executive back in September 2021 after they asked us to print some T-shirts for a charity event. After tea and a few biscuits, we realised our print prices were far less than they were currently paying and as we’re both based in Chesterfield it made sense for us to work together.
They tested our print quality with 100 A6 postcards to start with and quickly ordered A4 presentation folders, A5 leaflets, letterheads, bill paper and branded notepads.
We then moved on to looking at embroidered workwear… we choose the ORN Owl hoodie and the Result contrast softshell jacket with an embroidered logo. These were great for wearing in the office or to meetings with clients. We also produced some slim-fit polo shirts for a member of the team who didn’t like the standard fit.
Elliot Mather often take branded bags to court with them so we chose the premium Quadra navy and black backpack and smartly embroidered their logo on the front.
Here’s what Alan had to say about our service:
'I would highly recommend using Giraffe Workwear for your workwear and paper print needs. I am really impressed by the by their customer service, quality, and quick turnaround'

Director, Leedor first came to us in 2019 looking for some workwear for his team.
We carefully put together a range of t-shirts, hoodies and jackets to cover the team in all weathers. We print the logo on the left chest and on the back of the T-shirts in vinyl and we embroider the logo on the hoodies and jackets on the left chest, right and left arm and large on the back.
We have embroidered belt bags, gilets, padded jackets and caps. We have also printed baby grows, children’s T-shirts and hoodies.
‘We have been using Giraffe Workwear for a few years now here at Protection Dogs Worldwide; we have our PDW t-shirts and hoodies custom-made with Giraffe. We cannot fault their service; our uniforms are ordered and dispatched within a timely manner and their customer service is five stars! Let's start by breaking down the main methods of decorating clothing...
Embroidery is a collection of tiny stitches put together to form text or a logo. A logo has to be digitised in order for the embroidery machines to correctly stitch a design, and this incurs a set-up cost. Embroidery is great for left chest sized logos, and is a very popular method of decorating more formal clothing.
Vinyl print is created from rolls of vinyl that is printed onto, cut with a plotter, peeled out by hand and then heat-pressed onto garments. Vinyl is great for small orders, with bright, bold designs and varied colours. The process of heat-pressing the vinyl onto garments means it is not suitable for all types of fabric.
The screen printing process involves ink that is rolled over a custom blocking stencil, which is then dried. The ink is applied directly to the garment. Screen print is perfect for large quantities with a repeated design, such as event t-shirts. It's worth noting that each colour of a design requires a separate screen, and incurs a set-up cost.
